A Covenant With Earth

Location

Beneath the skies where cedars rise,
And rivers carve their endless ties,
The earth speaks softly, yet its call is clear:
A plea for wisdom, a world to revere.
For the children who chase the autumn breeze,
For the whales that dance in northern seas,
For the seeds we sow, and the soil we tread,
Let us mend the paths where our footprints have led.
Across the plains where the bison roam,
Through maple forests, their crimson home,
A question lingers in the rustling air:
Will we honor the gift entrusted there?
In factories’ hum and cities’ sprawl,
The natural balance begins to fall.
Clear-cut forests, polluted streams—
A future dimmed by broken dreams.
Yet the dawn brings hope, the chance to renew,
To shift our lens, to widen the view.
The salmon leap, the eagle soars;
Life rebounds when we mend its shores.
In co-existence, a path is shown,
Not as conquerors, but as nature’s own.
Let policies nurture, let actions defend,
For Earth is a treasure we must transcend.
So plant the seed, protect the sky,
Let the rivers sing and the wildflowers sigh.
For in their survival, our own is revealed—
A covenant with Earth, forever sealed.
