Along the Way

Location

Clumps of daisies
spread across the field
like sheep grazing
their way to the edge
of the forest and back.
Trees in full leaf
shelter travelers
along the way.
Creek water sings
through the rocks,
not harmony, but
comforting anyway.
Empty cans
of White Claw,
plastic deli boxes
adorn the grassy
shoulder.
