Dying Grass Moon

Location

full moon 10-17-24

No music for this moon
as I listen in the dark,
watch its full-face scramble
back to life before fading
in cloud-cover.

Spot full moon, and all
is right in the world,
though presently, it tilts
hard off its axis with pain

of wars, pollution, foul weather,
fire, heat waves, tornadoes.
All wrench the belly, but this light,
this full moon light, seems
somehow redemptive.

Hoping to capture some of that magic, she has been published in Snapdragon, Borderless, and 3 Elements Review. She was also a featured poet in a project sponsored by Tod Marshall, the Washington State poet laureate.
