Earth’s New Phase

Location

The tipping point came.
It was spoken of
by the prophets.
And pondered by the nobles.
Written about on the tablets
of the ancient Pharaohs.
But they didn’t call it
Climate Change
back then.
Early Scientists would eventually
refer to it as
Paleocene-Eocene Thermal Maximum.

The tipping point came.
It took countless generations
of refusing to pay attention
to the writing on the wall.
Or heed the warnings
of the indigenous people
That warned us time and time again
to respect the land.
But we didn’t.
Large corporations were too busy
dancing to a symphony
a tragic historical cycle,
Of gluttony
And greed.

The tipping point came
And the world was thrust
into a new sense of normal,
a new reality we couldn’t
quite seem to find our way
out of anymore.
We sat and watched in astonishment
as the Ocean swallowed everything in its path,
the land began to sink
and the Earth broke away.

The tipping point came
and the Earth began to tilt ever so slightly.
Yet still, making it possible for historic
unprecedented solar storms
to wreak havoc upon the Earth.
Solar flares lashing out
their angry tongues in disgust.
What have we done?
Our communications systems
could no longer bear
their relentless strikes.
Everything went dark.
I don’t remember anymore
what the world was like
before we had
the Internet.
We bore witness to the day
The Earth stood still.

The Modern Day Tower
of Babel
is no more.
The sky is dim
both day and night.
Except for bright
flashes of light
that illuminate the sky.
As World leaders contend with
this new reality
and command wars
in the Earth.
Even the unthinkable has occurred
and some wars are launched
from Space.

Man now wanders aimlessly
throughout the earth.
We were bewildered,
what would be the inheritance
of our children?
What have we done?
We questioned
how could humanity
survive?

The King Tides swelled up
like huge mythological giants.
Displeased with the renderings
of the elect.
Hovering above notable cities.
And the sea levels couldn’t be held back
anymore.
Bursting through dams
and everything else.
Carrying away our homes
our possessions
our memories
and everything else in its path,
except HOPE that is.
No, you can’t take away our hope!

I awakened from my evening slumber
startled, my hands shaking
I looked around confused
And sat up straight, right away
Only to discover
it was just a dream,
Or is it?

The Indigenous people
once again,
call upon the World
To lift up your heads,
Look up.
Remember the Covenant
in the sky.
Turn away from those ways
which pollute the Earth
and men’s hearts.
It’s not too late
to remember how to LOVE
one another,
to create a ring about HUMANITY
and walk the Earth as we did
in the beginning.
As brothers and sisters
Committed to Change
And the attainment of
PEACE.

IT’S NOT TOO LATE.
