compartmentalized, compromised
controlled, contained, and contaminated
to colonize and capitalize
to construct by the corrupt
to consume and collapse
the casualties, 95% of species
the sloughs are dehydrated
the tree islands are drowning
the seagrass mourn in salt-soaked silence,
the bay crys out from hypersalinity
the sawgrass shudders,
in the stillness of the swamp
the winds whisper warnings,
will we listen, or let silence settle?
improve conveyance and connection
send more water south
