Flower Field, Brooklyn Bridge Park

Location

1.

rambling brings me to your profuse
yellow yellow yellow     &
violet green white &
honey bees, butterflies birds
         mid-August first time here
I find myself
home

2.

late-October levelling you
toward dormancy       worker bees foraging
purple asters
    prairie dock       goldenrod
tangled stems & leaves      leaching
while close by
seagulls mew

Note: Brooklyn Bridge Park was created from six piers that at various times in its history were part of bustling commerce, an entry point for immigrants, a transportation terminal and then fell into misuse until the Park was created starting in 2010.
