Believe it or not, there once
was a highway where all traffic
ran under the Bridal Veil Falls
in North Carolina, believe it or not
there once was a waterfall so powerful
the cascading sound from the bluff
would roar for miles, watering the land
and the deer, icing the road, believe
it or not, before there were roads
it was the clearest blue, the coldest
cold, the purest place. Now, visitors
park by a sign, the stream nearly dry up.
