Fugue for a Winter’s Day

Location

For the wind, thread your fingers
          through the chimes.

For the sun, heat your soup up
          on the stove.

For the snow, crush the frozen
          with your skis.

For the cardinal, place your flowers
          in the window.

For the flowers, feed them water
          made of snow.
