Lullabies on Grandfather’s mountain
Breathe. In. That crisp clean breezy November air
Pine and evergreen trees everywhere
Pinecones underfoot covering the trails
Grandfather’s mountain reminds me of Christmas year round
Few maples smattering the landscape
Adding beautiful gold and crimson autumn colors
For the climb up
Whistling trees beckon
Before the cold of winter
Terrain progressively tiring the higher the climb
Seclusion reaching the top of Grandfather’s mountain
The sun showering my face with affection
Viewing the world from this vista
Shedding the fear
The coolness of the granite
Unwarmed by the heat of day
Angel clouds. His words echo
Grandfather’s mountain tracks tears of time that don’t fade
Vulnerability in the unknown
Solitude a riot of quiet
Breathe
Lullabies on Grandfather’s mountain
