Farther away than
Close to your you
our Kentucky is brashing songs
loud proud Yodels about supposed times when crazy wild horses ran amok and free
By the shore camps on fire
today, Strilling slowly along the daylit brown rivers, whistling by the oh so flashy white trees
the windy ways
some black birds sling invisible comets through the bright air
leaves breathe cloud morning gusts
shake castanet rhymes
silvery waves chime
outside time’s
flapping ribbons of air
craniums are Fragile Homes for songbirds like us
me and you
By the River
Hold close these precious broken trees
By these meandering roads shared by the flowing
water water
