Remember this—
the undeveloped moon,
pristine on black, transparent sky.
Now we are rocketing
to claim the moon
for flags, and factories, and mines,
we’ll monetize it,
use it as a base
in flotsam-jetsam space.
Remember, when the moon
has morphed into a myth—
remember it
the way it was,
when someone told you
to remember this:
the moon tonight,
the way it is.
