Space

Location

The great expanse of outer space,
the galaxies, the stars, supernovas and black holes,
are as nothing compared to the limitless
expanse of space within each one of us.

Within our mind we can travel to the stars and back,
explore universes as yet unknown, and, importantly,
our inner outer space is our own and ours alone,
unregulated by men or institutions.

If I am taken prisoner, chained up,
placed in solitary confinement, tortured and
tormented, no one can enter that space
unless I allow it. It requires courage.

I yearn to feel again the nocturnal breeze of
blackest night and highest stars upon my cheek,
feel the freedom of the angels.
if I can only wrap my head around that concept.

I ache to feel again the ineffable
oneness of creation, the closeness of God,
the liberation from time and space.
I know. It happened. I was there.
