Hear the call and response
of filament and root, melodies
of mother trees to thicket and grove,
counterpoint of spidery webs
in the soil harmonizing for healing
and transformation around tangles
of fat roots and puzzle structure.
Uncover the tapestry of connections,
let the sweet notes flow with you
as you walk in wild forests.
Work goes on in silence,
leaves capturing sun’s energy,
converting it in green arpeggios.
You can see it in the air and hear it,
crisp and staccato, underfoot.
Listen to the sagas of distress
and contentment, operatic tales
of carbon and sugar, ebb and flow,
feast and famine, so like
our own ancient histories.
