Thirteen Haiku

Location

bone on bone
the stridulations
of a cricket
cirrus spissatus the tattered wings of a cabbage white
a dumbledore deeper
into the scent of yellow
okra blossoms
this long prelude
to the end of the world
poncirus moon
rushing toward
the red light
solidago
hurricane remnants
the last evening primroses
nodding through mist
all that’s left
                       now
                                white pines
hiss of highway
                              the color of maple wind
deep woods
lichens encrust
a line of stones
cirrus intortus
a single starling
conquers gravity
last bee
on the cat’s ear
November comes
what do the siskins call us?
                                                 pine darkness
the setting sun
pushing a hawk
deeper into space
