Vengeance

Location

Rain pours down
in vengeance
Drought-baked land
dares to drink
engorge itself
after three years of tease
My side of the states
swallows the promise
farms freed from irrigation
reservoirs fill fast
Hubris-worn cities
that can’t handle politics
right or left—-
find streets become rivers
while manmade ideas
flow forcibly
down the drain
of those who don’t believe
in Mother Nature
