The sky, clean of any imperfections, parts way to let you soar.
An arrow floating, piercing across the horizon.
The arrow that never wobbles, never faults
Stark against swirling clouds and streaks of sunlight
I don’t know where you are going, but I want to go there too.
I want to fly alongside you
Untouchable by others yet wound together as one.
Gliding, the final note resonating.
Alas, I am only looking up, content to simply observe
Your silent song, an escape from the noise of my own
I must stop dodging troubles, but I can’t
Peel my eyes away from the flock gliding across the vast sky.
Officially just a flock. But what does that mean?
You cannot just be a group of migrating birds.
You are a troop. Moving with order, grace, and intent
Your flight – a harmony. Perfect beats held between each and every one
Your leader, the tip of the arrow,
supporting the others with strength, with honor
When I say that I wish to fly with you, I mean the impossible
So maybe I am wishing for others to fly with,
For a breath of the calm simplicity, and steady power,
To move with your poise and your purpose
To be united, knowing when to
Step back, and when to take the lead,
Knowing that there is someplace we are all going.
